Pros: Wireless N: 130Mbps Fast Ethernet: 100Mbps Low Profile: This card comes with a full and low profile bracket, making it useful for many applications Dual Antenna: because it's serious Well Packaged: because it's serious Cons: I am using an old draft N router so I can't attest to whether this card can achieve 300Mbps or not. Other Thoughts: I bought this wireless NIC because my roommate's PC was using a full sized card with the bracket ripped off.
It bounced around until the antennas bent and couldn't pick up any wireless networks. The simple installation and the immediate Windows 7 recognition led me to the decision of buying another for myself. Best regards, Jerry ASUS Customer Loyalty. Pros: It's cheap and works well for the most part. I never had any dropouts while gaming with it Cons: Connection is not as fast as it should be. Randomly drops to 1mbps connection speed which is fixed only by shutting the PC totally off (on Win7 with latest drivers) Other Thoughts: It worked while I had it, but I just updated to a new Asus motherboard with built in wi-fi and still connected via wireless N my new setup gets double the connection speed and double the speedtest downloads of this card.
I bought this card because it was cheap and I thought I only needed wi-fi for a few months in my desktop but it turned into a few years. I definitely would have gone with something else if I'd known that was going to be the case. Pros: it works sometimes cheap Cons: it works sometimes cheap Other Thoughts: I've had this card for over two years. About 29 months to be exact. Since my purchase, it has caused me nothing but trouble. I'm actually surprised that I was patient enough to own it for this long. Tonight I get fed up with its garbage performance and decided to write a negative review.
It's cheap for a reason and you get what you pay for. There are better network cards out there. Asus makes good products, but this isn't one.
Dear Valued Customer, Please make sure that you don't have your OS turn off the device on its own. In Windows, go to the device manager, find the PCE-N13 in Network adapters, right-click it, and go to the properties. Under the Power Management tab, uncheck the box labeled 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. If this does not help or if you are using a different OS, please contact me at [email protected] so that I may help you get your card working for you. Regards, Jeremy ASUS Customer Loyalty.
